Our business

Your role:

  • Provide geological concepts and models for the stochastic & petrophysical modeling workflow of smart hydrocarbon recovery and
  • sustainable energy projects in close cooperation with reservoir engineering
  • Develop knowledge of stochastic & petrophysical modeling workflows including basic concepts of statistics
  • Design, apply and improve stochastic & petrophysical modeling workflows in an integrated team
  • SCAL interpretation and integration in various models, from laboratory to model
  • Support operating units with respect geoscience applications, characterization and modelling of reservoirs
  • Interpret and integrate geological & seismic data using modern workstation tools in subsurface modeling
  • Liaise with neighboring disciplines (Geophysics, Petrophysics, Geomechanics, Drilling Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, etc.) and Exploration to unlock synergies across disciplines.
  • Provide high quality, consistent project documentation and relevant information for decision making by using state of the art decision
  • analysis workflows and software (e.g. CODEC). Completion of technical projects on time, to agreed standards, with full product delivery
  • Distribute best practice and modelling workflows developed in OMV group wide
  • Participates in OMV´s subsurface quality assurance process e.g. peer reviews and quality assurance for geomodelling under uncertainty

Your profile:

  • University degree Master/Diplom in Geoscience
  • A minimum 5 years work experience, with good understanding of all elements within Geoscience and their impact on the company wide decision making
  • Knowledge of interdependencies, managing workflows with neighboring disciplines
  • Good understanding of relevant geology, geophysics, geomodelling and petrophysical techniques including structure mapping and modeling, well log analysis, correlation, structural analysis and construction of geological cross-sections, volumetric calculations and risk analysis
  • Good understanding of seismic technologies, seismic interpretation, drilling technology, wireline log data and formation evaluation
  • Experience in field (re)development planning and execution is favorable
  • Skills with Geo Modelling Software Packages (Petrel), Techlog for petrophysical interpretation and python for coding in Techlog of advantage
  • Strong understanding of SCAL Laboratory experiments, QC and uncertainty modelling
